sometimes i think about how everything is reduced to something that can be harvested. how we treat people, the environment, other animals, energy or building resources - we harvest and spend and waste and use it in ways that provide some benefits (to some, harm to others, and in the long run not so much good for anyone) but often aren’t sustainable or healthy; as a system, not just as individual “choices” but those too. you don’t have to fuck everything up in order to survive and you don’t need to put yourself into some vulnerable position to hide that you fucked up. but we do, on so many levels. consumption is a weird, many thing.
